A Night to Celebrate: Good Company, Great Wine, and a Dress That Made Me Feel Amazing

After months of adjusting to life as a new mom, my husband and I finally took a night to celebrate — just us and great wine. We went to Cooper’s Hawk in Alpharetta, Georgia, one of our favorite spots for date nights and special occasions.

This dinner felt special for more than one reason — it was my first wine experience since having my baby, and let me tell you, it felt amazing to sit down, relax, and enjoy a glass (or two!).

We’ve been members of the Cooper’s Hawk Wine Club for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the best little luxuries we share. Every month we look forward to trying something new — the tastings, the pairings, the sense of community. It’s not just about the wine; it’s about slowing down, reconnecting, and celebrating life’s milestones together.

The Look: Chic, Confident, and Effortless

For the evening, I wore this black mesh floral maxi dress I found through Rent the Runway. The sheer floral overlay, long sleeves, and curve-hugging silhouette made it the perfect mix of elegant and bold. I paired it with loose waves, neutral glam makeup, and a pop of color from my soft pink clutch — because even the smallest accessory can shift your whole mood.

One of the reasons I love Rent the Runway is that it makes getting dressed easy — especially in seasons when your body and size are still changing. Postpartum style can be tricky, but having access to designer pieces that fit beautifully (without committing to a full purchase) feels like the confidence boost I needed.

When I looked in the mirror before dinner, I smiled — not because I looked “perfect,” but because I felt like me again.

A Toast to New Seasons

That night was more than a dinner. It was a reminder that celebration doesn’t always have to be grand — sometimes it’s just about good food, great company, and feeling grateful for where you are.

Motherhood has changed me in every way, but moments like this remind me that confidence isn’t something you lose after becoming a mom — it just evolves.

Here’s to more date nights, more laughter, more beautiful dresses, and more reasons to toast to life.
